Here's my response to the prompt:
The characteristics of professionalism for teachers according to the Journal of Education & Social Policy are “maintaining appropriate relationships with students, parents, and colleagues; modeling of the appearance and attitudes of a professional; and promptness.” The purpose of writing this article was because there is a lack of universal understanding of the official definition of professionalism in teacher education programs. It discusses what they deem as professionalism in the physical education field. They believe that professionalism starts by understanding the basic definition of the world. Professionalism is defined by specific needs of certain discipline in education. Others think that professionalism is divided into categories. I agree this this article for the most part because obviously this article is written very formally. It covers the basics of professionalism. A basic rule of thumb for any job is to: show up on time, have a friendly attitude, and be timely. Teaching in education is similar to other jobs and the professionalism it takes to perform a task. Some of the similarities are showing up on time, being friendly, and being appropriate in the workplace.
